Welcome to the island of Cydria. It's been a century since the god of gods, Deitero, first created the island. in the beginning of its existence, there were ten years of what are now called "peacetime." Immediately on its toes followed a war between the various races that lasted up until seven years ago. To put an end to the feuding, the deities of Cydria established forced peace with the creation of a tournament. Every year, each race offers up one champion to compete for the choice territories of the island. So far, it seems to be working. But when the gods are as corrupt as the beings they govern, nothing can last for long...

THE LANDS
[ ]Wynth (7 sub-boards)
Less than a mile inland, Wynth is a maze of treacherous mountains. Villages are remote, separated by jagged slopes and connected by footpaths. The least desirable of the territories, it has little arable land and next to no wildlife.
Currently owned by the Humans.

767
[ ]si'ith (8 sub-boards)
The southern territory is a dessert, but in no sense a wasteland. It is the fishing capital of Cydria, and at the water's edge stands its thriving capital city.
Currently owned by the Vampyrs.

112
[ ]enyth (7 sub-boards)
Comprised of miles of level farmland, Enyth is the hub of Cydrian agriculture. With mild temperatures year-round, it is the most desirable of the territories.
Currently owned by the Mages.

16
[ ]ni'ith (7 sub-boards)
With permafrost for soil, not much can be grown in the northern territory. Its inhabitants hunt what animals are large and coarse enough to survive the extreme conditions, including manticores and chimeras. Despite the crudity of the environment, the capital city is a magnificent fortress.
Currently owned by the Mer.

26
[ ]terrinth (7 sub-boards)
The central territory forms a ring of rolling, forested mountains around the Mediterranean Lake, which, in turn, forms a ring around Har ha-Elohim. With the mount of the gods protruding from its middle, the capital city was shifted farther toward the eastern border. Though there is some farmland in Terrinth, and though there is a sizable population of woodland beasts, the main source of income for the people is coal mining.
Currently owned by the Lycanthropes.

THE SEAS
[ ]western sea
Cresting the shores of Wynth, the Western Sea is known for is deep sapphire hues and, more importantly, its large population of shrakes. While the beach attracts a fair amount of tourism, swimming out in the water is discouraged. Fishermen and mer avoid these waters at all costs.

00
[ ]southern sea
Water in the south sea is a deep teal, no different from any ordinary ocean. However, the crust at the south sea floor dips steeply about a mile off the coast. The depths create the perfect environment for sea serpents, which populate the waters.

00
[ ]eastern sea
If the aquamarine waters weren't attractive enough, the population of hippocampi marks this sea as the hub of commercial tourism. Somehow, the water temperature never drops below seventy degrees. It is hypothesized the the hippocampi radiate enough body heat to warm the waters, but this theory has yet to be proven.

00
[ ]northern sea
The North Sea waters are crystal clear -- not a trace of blue or green anywhere. The sea as a whole never reaches depths greater than eight feet, these points being along the borders between it and the western and eastern seas. The waters are also too frigid to support any kind of life.

00
[ ]Mediterranean Lake
The Mediterranean Lake is positioned exactly where its name suggests -- the center of the earth. Dead smack in the middle of Cydria, this lake is approximately three miles in diameter. Plimpies crawl along the shore, gnawing at clothing and limbs of passing swimmers, but they are harmless in comparison to the lake's other inhabitants. Kelpies lurk in the depths, surfacing every once in a while to seduce a shore-goer to their death.

00
THE HEAVENS
[ ]winding path
The Winding Path is just what its name implies. It is a footpath that winds up the side of Har ha-Elohim (the mount of the gods). The path starts out fairly level and easy to tread. The farther up one travels, the more treacherous it becomes. Boulders often break off the side. There are also mudslides. Just before the summit, the path turns completely vertical.

19
[ ]gate of pearls
The Gate of Pearls extends fifty feet into the air. The thousands of pearls that constitute the gate reflect the sunlight, giving the gate a radiant glow. Only gods and champions might pass through the age unharmed. Most others can't even pry it open, much less get to it.

00
[ ]pegasus fields
The fields are the first thing one will see upon entering the kingdom of the gods. They are immense, stretching far as the eye can see. The grass is lush and green, with the occasional crystal blue brook bubbling past. The fields are home to the majestic winged horses, known as the pegasi.

00
[ ]palaces of the gods (13 sub-boards)
Each of the minor gods (i.e., every god but Aquis, Deitero, and Mortimer) reside in their own palaces.

11
[ ]throne room
The throne room is a cavernous, circular chamber in which the gods meet to appraise champions and plan future tournaments. It is built entirely of marble and the ceiling is supported by columns.

00
[ ]deitero's acropolis
Deitero, god of gods and creator of all races save one, has his own acropolis at the center of the gods' kingdom. It is three levels high, with walls and structures of marble and streets of granite. On the highest level, in the very center of it all, is Deitero's palace, the largest of the gods'.

00
THE DEPTHS
[ ]river of blood
The River of Blood acts as the barrier between humans and the Golgotha (place of the skull). The current is lighting fast and strong. It sweeps all humans off their feet. The type of blood has yet to be determined, but scientists have narrowed it down to AB+ or O.

00
[ ]gate of obsidian
Black as the darkest cave on a moonless night, the Gate of Obsidian is said to instill fear in the hears of those who gaze upon it. Like its pearly counterpart, it stands at a height of fifty feet. The tips of its spires have been sharpened to fine points that could cleave through bone and flesh. Guarded by a vicious tri-headed Chimera, safe access through the age is only granted to Mortimer, god of the dead, and vampyrs.

00
[ ]valley of bones
Equivalent to Tartarus, of Greek mythology, the Valley of Bones plays host to the worst of the worst. Each person condemned to eternity in the valley is not only tortured in a manner befitting his/her misdemeanors, but every time a step is taken, there can be heard the sound of dry bones cracking underfoot.

15
[ ]barrens
So named for their lack of vegetation, the Barrens are plots of flat land. Each dead soul in the Barrens is given its own plot, to do with what it wishes. Plots include a small pool for refreshment and a dwelling. Dwellings are constructed on various levels of crudity, depending on how the souls behaved during their lifetime. Souls placed there are neutral, leaning neither too far toward evil to land in the Valley, nor to far toward pure to land in the Palisades.

00
[ ]palisades
The best of the best travel here after death. Anyone who committed a heroic deed during their lifetime is granted their own sprawling mansion. The mansions are separated by rolling hills covered in lush vegetation. Souls are welcome to plant their own gardens, drink, and revel to their hearts' desires.

00
[ ]mount of shadows
The Mount of Shadows is a mount of dark, mafic rock with a broken, jagged summit. Perched precariously atop this summit is Mortimer's palace. Constructed entirely of obsidian, it is dark, with many sharp edges. Its architecture is Gothic in style, full of arches and flying buttresses. The mountain and castle are veiled in black smoke.
