• Delmara sneaks over to Enyth to scope out the competition (since the mages won the tournament last year, mage contenders should be watched closely) under the guise that she's visiting for strictly commercial or political reasons. Like, it's good for her reputation if she chats up the son of an arch mage or w/e. Summarized version: Delmara interrupts Dim in the middle of a training session and pretends to play nice, when really, she's sizing him up, looking for weaknesses.
• Dim literally does show up in Ni'ith for social reasons and stumbles across the princess on a hunt. We take it from thar.

You can pick either of those two, or put your own Tay spin on one and turn it into something totally different. Whatever suits your fancy.

Anyway. So. I. LUFF this idear! I'd just like to state that we should do both of those. Like, she goes to scope out the competition and is slightly impressed but refuses to accept that he may beat her, so she like flirts him up a bit as she watches him then returns home bent on practicing even moar!

Then, purteh Dim comes to Ni'ith and runs into mergirl shootin' up some scary beasties and Dim's all 'holydmn you just shot that thing?!' and she gets all defensive and aims an arrow at him and... I can just see her developing a soft spot for him and giving in and telling him the truth about her signing up for the games(Eventually, of course!) I donno if you dig the idea of seeing where this leads us or not but I was just moosin' as usual. I may yet think of something new to add!
