School Year Begins with a Bang

Yesterday's train ride began as any other in recent history. Students departed from the station in Diagon Alley to make the trek to Hogsmeade station. Everything was going well until the train came to a sudden, unexpected stop. While no reporters were allowed within Hogwarts gates, we were able to speak with a few of the terrified students as the Imperium Guard now stationed at the castle checked their trunks for contraband. While none offered much insight into the crash, it has been learned the sudden stop was due to the blowout of the bridge. Students were sent via impromptu portkeys and some by side-along apparition to the wizarding village of Hogsmeade where things were treated as normally as possible. Second years and older boarded the horseless carriages and the first years took to the boats.

Lord Williams had only this to offer, "We are working hard and fast to find the perpetrators, but so far we have been unable to find any solid leads. We suspect the terrorist faction, The Order of the Phoenix, may be behind this attack, but as of yet, no one has been caught. As a father of two students, I find myself just as anxious to find the people behind this attack." The Ministry further stressed if you have any information regarding the attacks, you should contact Head of Magical Law Enforcement, Walter Blythe.

In light of the frightening events in late 2008 that resulted in the famous wizarding school of Hogwarts' closure and near-destruction, parents have expressed great concern for their children's well-being, but the Ministry stresses you have no need to worry. No students were harmed in yesterday's attack, and the Ministry plans to ensure it stays that way by any means necessary. Imperium Guards are posted around the clock at all major entrances, and all staff is soon to be debriefed on defensive spells and escape routes are being created for the children.
